Breastpump Rentals and Sales - helping
                            mothers and babies since 1993
About Me
In 1987 when my first son was just a week old and hospitalized, I found myself in need of a breastpump.  I timidly walked into a medical supply store where an older man who seemed as embarrassed as I was, gave me the paperwork and the pump.  I got the message that he really didn't know anything about breastpumps, didn't want to talk about breastpumps, and preferred that I  take it and figure it out myself.
In 1993,  after my third son had arrived, I was working with mothers and babies as a breastfeeding counselor.  I ran monthly meetings and spent hours on the phone with new moms helping them to start or continue nursing their babies.  Whenever a  mother's situation warranted a rental pump, as I suggested it I was reminded of my own experience and wished it could be different for her.  I spoke with the other leaders in my support group and we decided that we should open a rental station.  Everyone agreed to the idea, but I was the only one willing to keep the inventory at home!
After a few months, the group decided that a rental station required too much time and effort for me to do unpaid, so I took over the business as my own.  I had not planned to start a business and thought of it as an extension to the volunteer counseling I was already doing.  Initially, my dining room table was my office and I kept kits and parts in the attic!  When people were late for appointments, our dinner was late too.
Eventually, I was able to take over the enclosed front porch of my home as my office which is fortunate since there have been countless additions to the breastpump market over the past 20 years.

My intention has always been to help mothers get good information and the right pumps for their needs.  There have been many times that I have steered a mom away from a more expensive option to one that better suited her or that helped her to see what she needed was help with breastfeeding, not just a pump.
As the mother of six breastfed children, I have the experience and perspective to help new parents at a time that can be confusing and overwhelming.
